Abstract

Dysmenorrhea, also known as menstrual pain, is a common lower abdominal pain that radiates from the waist to the thighs during menstruation. Painful dysmenorrhea is brought on by an imbalance in the blood hormone progesterone. In females, psychological factors also impact dysmenorrhea. The most prevalent reproductive issue that women and teenagers of all ages deal with is pain during their periods (Kusmiran, 2011 in Suri, et al, 2014). Menstruation commences with the first menarche, which typically happens between the ages of 12 and 16 years, and ends with the menopause, or last menstrual cycle, which happens between the ages of 45 and 50. Every month, women undergo menstruation, and the menstrual cycle can lead to dysmenorrhea, or pain in the abdomen (Winarso, 2014).
