The Impact of Walking and Gentle Yoga during Pregnancy and Trimester III on the Labor Process

Still found prolonged labor or prolonged labor is characterized by a latent phase of more than 8 hours without the birth of a baby, and cervical dilatation to the right of the alert line on the partograph. Factors that play an important role are the force pushing the fetus out including his (uterine strength) and abdominal wall muscle contractions. Psychological conditions can affect maternal labor and the smooth delivery process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of prenatal gentle yoga by walking in third trimester pregnant women on the delivery process. This research design uses quantitative research methods with a two group posttest design only approach. The population in this study were 30 pregnant women in the third trimester using purposive sampling technique, with a true experimental instrument. Mann-Whitney U. The results showed that in the prenatal gentle yoga group 15 people (50%) were effective, in the walking group 5 people (16.7%) were ineffective and 10 people (33.3%) were effective. The results of the analysis show that the asymp. sig value is (p-value = 0.016), then there is the effectiveness of prenatal gentle yoga by walking on the delivery process in third trimester pregnant. From these results, it can be concluded that the yoga treatment group was more effective than the walking group.
